Consumer Protection Act and its application in Kuwait
The Kuwaiti legislator was interested in establishing a set of social and ethical controls imposed on workers in the commercial sectors through the consumer protection sector of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, which makes every effort to protect consumers from counterfeit goods and inflated prices, and to ensure the quality of the goods provided to the consumer and ensure all his rights, Kuwaiti law defines the consumer as "any natural or legal person who buys a commodity or service for the purpose of consumption. Consumer Protection Act aims to ensure the rights of citizens and prevent commercial fraud and ensure that goods are free of defects defined by Kuwait's Consumer Protection Act as: "Any lack of quality, quantity or efficiency, non-conformity of the commodity or service to the agreed specifications, or to the standards to be adhered to in accordance with the implementing regulations, provided that the defect is not caused by consumer’s behavior”.
